Safety Program
American Contracting & Services, Inc. (“Company”), desires
that all its operations be conducted in the safest possible manner.
Emphasis is placed on training and preventative measures. All employees
will be expected to cooperate fully in setting and following safe
practices. “Compliance with such measures and practices by all employees
is mandatory. Failure to comply will be cause for termination.”
This quote is incorporated as part of the company safety policy
that is distributed to all employees when hired.
All company personnel are required to familiarize themselves with
the rules and practices outlined in the safety policy before going
to work. The policy is the minimum requirement and does not in any
way relieve employees from complying with federal, state, and local
laws.
Supervisory personnel are responsible for implementing and enforcing
safe work practices and procedures, instructing employees in the
rules and practices contained in the safety policy, and making sure
employees receive the instructions necessary to perform their job
activities.
General Company safety rules are as follows:
- Hard hats will be worn on all projects, by all personnel, at all times.
- Suitable clothes will be worn: shirts, long trousers, and hard sole shoes.
- No employees will report to work under the influence of drugs or intoxicants.
- No person will be allowed to work until he has satisfied his supervisor that he is competent to perform the duties in a safe manner.
- All accidents will be reported to your supervisor, no matter how minor, at once.
- All equipment shall be used with proper guards and in the manner prescribed, or tagged “Do Not Use”.
- Do not ride or work under loads that are being lifted by cranes.
- The carrying of handguns or any deadly weapon by any person on Company property or job sites is strictly prohibited.
- If you violate a safety rule, you will be given a written warning. A second violation will mean a 3-day suspension without pay. A third violation will result in termination of employment.
- All job sites will conduct toolbox safety talks at least weekly.
